How often do you wear an outfit in hopes of trying to emulate someone else? If it is a number of times, the sad truth is you are probably spending more money than you should. Truth of the matter is, most of the cool fashion blogger shots on instagram, are
sponsored. That means they are being paid to be photographed in outfits to make you and I fall for buying the products. I am not against being paid to advertise something because it is how some people earn a living. The problem is, you on the other side, want to dress like them and end up spending way more than they do.

I can't lie and say I do not fall for the tricks but I have changed a few habits to avoid spending as much. Anyone who knows me, knows I am a sucker for all things to do with fashion but I do not wish to be dragged into the system and developing my personal style has really helped improve my consumption choices.
I highly recommend applying a minimalistic approach to improving your spending habits, and it is as simple as clearing your wardrobe and figuring out what you still wear and most importantly, which items describe your personal style. Below are two guides which could simplify the process
You can definitely get inspiration from celebrities and bloggers, the key is to use what you have to imitate their looks rather than purchasing every item you see on them. Otherwise, you may only wear those items once or twice, which to me is a waste of money.
I do not have much advice this week except that I would like you all to think about whether you shop for items based on personal preference or because there is someone whose wardrobe you would like to resemble. Again, you are free to make whatever choices you wish however, always ask yourself whether you are buying an item because it looked good on someone else or because you LOVE it, and not just LIKE it.
be a trendsetter...these days you don't even have to match your outfits..be you, do you, wear you, for you..
