Monday Motivation

I often do not like to view Monday's as gloomy days but rather, a fresh start to the week. It can be very hard to have such a perspective when everyone around seems down, however it is up to us as individuals to determine how we feel.

A few tips to have a better Monday

1. Start off by renewing your mind on Sunday

This could entail resting (not sleeping all day), watching or
listening to something motivational, in my case I enjoy going to church on Sunday morning's. That way I tend to have something positive to think about or work towards during my week. I believe having a positive mindset and attitude are my key motivating factors which make my Monday's a lot more bearable. In turn you may find that your positivity will rub off onto those around you.

2. Clean your room/ apartment the day before

"Clutter is a stealer of joy..", I do not know the author of the quote but I totally agree with them. I associate cleanliness with motivation and productivity. When my surroundings are messy I tend to focus on the mess around me rather than being focused and it also dampens my mood a bit. I do acknowledge the fact that some of us believe in an "organised mess" and that is totally alright if you are fully efficient around such an environment. Point is, try to clean your room on a Sunday and observe the difference in your energy on a Monday morning, I personally feel more refreshed.

3. Plan your day ahead

I love my phone calendar so much because it allows me to allocate a task for each hour of the day, so no excuses as to not having a planner because we all have one in the palm of our hands. Planning ahead just makes the day run smoother and I procrastinate less which makes me feel even better about myself, the joys of being student.

4. Life is full of choices

This is my final tip. In the wise words of Hannah Montana, "life's what you make it so lets make it rock." You will have a gloomy Monday if that is what you wake up telling yourself, fair enough life comes in our way and somethings are out of our control. However, what matters is how you handle those situations, if someone upsets you early in the morning, find it within you to let it go. If you are late, do not sulk, make up for the time you lost and catch up on what you missed. There are so many scenarios I could give, bottom line is, wake up thinking you will have a happy Monday and chances are you will most likely have one.

Hello to a great week and goodbye to gloomy Monday's!
