Minimalism

I was thinking about what my next blog post would be about and eventually one word jumped at me, MINIMALISM. In simple terms, it is the removal of any thing that does not add value to your life, and I say "things" not "items" because I would like to challenge you to think of anything, including intangible objects, that you could get rid of before or during 2018.

If you take a look around your surroundings or the room you spend

the most time in, what do you think you can get rid of? Does everything hold value? If not, just think about why you have it, if it is because you just like it or no reason at all then that's alright. However if you are interested in following this path of minimalism, and your answer was "No reason", then get rid of it.

Give it to someone else if its useable, if its a random piece of paper from 5 years ago, then put it in the bin. Harsh? Yes! Minimalism is a bit uncomfortable however once you are surrounded by only meaningful things, you will hopefully begin to notice a positive change.

This is a topic I will delve into deeper over time, that way I can share more in depth ideas on how to have less and still feel fulfilled. I will look at it from a few perspectives;
  • Your surroundings
  • Fashion
  • Friendships
The latter may seem a bit controversial but think about it, there could be a few toxic friendships in your life that may need to go. Unless you have hope that things will change.

Until next time, you could read a bit on the issue and comment below your thoughts on it. I have also linked a few resources that could shed some light.
